Hi! I am Efrat
I moved from Israel to New York as a young adult for my education and relocated to Tokyo in 2019, where I completed my MFA in printmaking at Tokyo University of the Arts. I currently teach art in international communities in Japan, feeling fortunate to share my love for the creative path with others.
In my art, I seek to evoke a calming sense of peace and a love for natural environments. While inspired by the different places I’ve lived, making art has always helped me find comfort and a sense of home wherever I am. I love creating colorful Mokuhanga woodblock prints, paintings, and illustrations using water-based pigments on different types of Washi paper.
I see art as a universal language, a powerful tool for communicating and sharing the stories that all people, anywhere, carry within.
