A photo from my graduation ceremony at Tokyo University of the Arts
Hello and welcome
I am Efrat, and I am an artist.
As a young adult, I moved from a village in Israel to New York, and relocated to Tokyo in 2019, where I completed my MFA in Fine Arts.
In my art, I seek to evoke a calming sense of peace and a love for natural environments. No matter where I live, making art has always helped me feel at home. I love creating colorful prints, paintings, and illustrations using water-based pigments on different types of Washi (hand-made Japanese paper).
I teach art in international communities in Tokyo, feeling fortunate to share my love for the creative path with others. I see art as a universal language, a powerful tool for communicating and sharing the stories that all people, anywhere, carry within.
